Gone a the days where educators or teachers are shamed for using gentle teaching.
Empathy would say, I can bet my bottom dollar that leader is working dam hard to regulate themselves. It’s not cocky either.
It’s not that the child is getting away with punishment either. It’s not, not setting boundaries and changing voice tones. It’s respectful teaching to emotions and reading the subtle signs of a child that may not be able to verbalise. Even if they are a preschooler, kindy child or pre kindy. My pre kindy kids of 6 years struggled daily with their emotions. I did too at times. It’s being human. It’s not always easy to teach respectfully. But oh my it’s impactful.
It’s about uniting. Not shaming each other. Losing our temper is instant gratification. It’s the easy way and the hard way in the end. We’ve all been there. I know I have. It’s about noticing and developing. It’s about knowing that planting the seeds of stigma can start in the early years. No one is immune to brain diversity challenges. No one gets out of jail free. It’s raw vulnerability. Saying, this is hard. I need some support.
